Wedding photography at Southover Grange in Lewes

Lewes Register Office is located in the stunning Grade II listed Southover Grange, built in the 16th century. It’s about as stunning a registry office as you can get. While the ceremonies are held inside, afterwards you can spill out onto the Southover Grange Gardens which are also stunning. It makes wedding photography at Southover Grange in Lewes a dream!

This beautiful building has two ceremony rooms. The Evelyn Room has a maximum capacity of 30 and The Ainsworth Room has a maximum capacity for 60. The register office in Lewes is also just a 10 minute walk from the train station and is situated right in the heart of Lewes. Literally a few steps away is the historic Keele Street which is ideal for some couple shots. As well as Southover Grange Gardens themselves. There is nothing not to like about this town!

The ceremony

Fiona and Andrew chose to get married here as it’s close to where Fiona grew up. 40 or so of their closest friends and family joined them to witness them say their vows. Fiona walked down the aisle with her sister while Andrew’s mother did a reading. It was a lovely intimate wedding followed by some candids and couple portraits afterwards.

Southover grange gardens for wedding portraits

This is such a gorgeous spot for some wedding photos. A bit of a tip… it can get busy and while the likes of Ai can get rid of distractions you will find artists, families and everything in-between in this stunning bit of green in the heart of Lewes. Close by to the gardens you will also find Keele Street. A timeless cobbled street which sums up the beauty of Lewes.

Congratulations to Fiona and Andrew and thank you for trusting me with capturing your lovely ceremony. x
