Wedding photography at South Stoke Barn

“We had the wonderful Pippa capture our wedding back in May and from beginning to end, the whole experience was perfect. Before the day, Pippa took the time to talk through and understand our vision for the day and walk us through everything, answering any questions we had. On the day itself, Pippa just blended right in but was so friendly and personable with everyone – in the end, it felt like Pippa was just another guest who happened to have a camera! We felt totally comfortable and at ease throughout the whole day, especially during our couples shoot. The style we envisioned for the day was candid, natural and relaxed with some formal shots sprinkled in, and we were absolutely blown away by the photos we got back. Pippa perfectly captured the day, all the little moments and the wonderful interactions between people, as well as beautiful shots of the venue and decoration details that we wouldn’t have otherwise gotten photos of! The whole day was encapsulated perfectly and in such a way that it feels as though we are transported right back to the day when we look through them (which we have done many, many times!) We will cherish them forever and truly cannot recommend Pippa enough.”

This was my first time shooting here and I would love to do more wedding photography at South Stoke Barn. The setting is second to none for those seeking a rural Sussex feel to their wedding and the owners Ryan and Tanya are incredibly welcoming.

South Stoke barn is one of five built on farms around Arundel by the Duke of Norfolk in the late 1800’s and the only one left in its original form. What makes it unique is that it’s virtually unchanged since it was first built. The timber beams upstairs create a stunning back drop to whatever dining you choose and can accommodate up to 120 guests. On the ground floor there is an open fronted reception area that spills out on to the landscaped lawns with outdoor seating. Note they only hold weddings from April to September as the venue really lends itself to the outdoor style weddings.

Maisie chose to get ready at a relaxed holiday barn about twenty minutes from South Stoke and most guests stayed in and around Arundel (a short distance from the venue). A super relaxed bride made for a chilled out morning and we were blessed with beautiful May weather for the entire day. Maisie and Chris chose close friends and family to celebrate their day and it made for a really special atmosphere. Guests could enjoy the grounds for the receptions drinks and you are spoilt for choice when it comes to couple photos here. We were even lucky enough to have golden hour. It really is a stunning venue and one not to be missed when considering your Sussex wedding.
