groom leading bride through field at golden hour

Wedding photography at Farbridge West Sussex

“We saw Pippa’s work at a local wedding fair and straight away we knew she was the one we wanted to take the photographs of our magical day. So thanks you so much Pippa for the photos, we absolutely love them!
Just wanted to say thank you for doing an amazing job in the day we really couldn’t have asked for a better photographer!”

This was a stunning and joyous wedding from start to finish. I first met Madi and James last year at a wedding show and was super excited they wanted me to be involved in their special day. Wedding photography at Farbridge West Sussex is a dream, especially if you hit it lucky with the weather. After a pretty challenging July for weddings, we were gifted with a warm sunny day. And despite all hopes of a golden hour being dashed as the cloud cover came over we suddenly noticed a ray of evening light shining through. Bingo!

The venue – Farbridge Barn

Once an old diary, and nestled in the South Downs National Park, Farbridge is a beautiful wedding venue. The barn can host from 70-150 guests and includes seven en suite bedrooms. With a garden and courtyard, a barn for the ceremony and dancing and another for dining, it simply has everything you need. And the best bit of all, you can tailor it to your taste decorating the barns as and how you want.

Getting ready

Madi and her bridal party got ready in the beautiful bridal suite behind the main barn. There was a relaxed and chilled atmosphere despite hearing the guests were stuck on a coach in traffic near Havant. Madi had thought of everything. There were gifts for her parents, her girls, a letter for James. And of course not a dry eye around when they were opened. Madi had also designed the invitations, made the welcome sign, table plan and decorated the tables. Wonder woman!

The ceremony

Oh my gosh so many tears! James made me well up about three times at this wedding. The emotions were all so beautiful and authentic. Madi walked down the aisle with her father to her emotional hubby to be. A short but moving ceremony followed before the couple joined guests out in the courtyard for drinks and games. The speeches were equally full of tearful moments and of course wonderful laughter.

Evening golden hour and party

Oh to be blessed with the glow of natural evening light when you think it’s all over with cloud cover dominating the day! For ten minutes we were treated to the most gorgeous evening light. And what better place than at Farbridge. Surrounded by stunning fields, it makes the perfect backdrop for some relaxed couple portraits. After a walk around, the evening was kicked off by an outside cake cutting and then straight in for the first dance. Congratulations Madi and James. This was a special one! xx
