Festival wedding photography at Crockstead Fields
It was a first to be working at this East Sussex venue and it didn’t disappoint. Jo and Dan contacted me earlier in the year and I knew instantly we’d be a good fit. A laid back festival vibe wedding close to home was ideal. And wedding photography at Crockstead Fields is a delight!
At the above suggests, the set up is pretty much like a festival. One big field surrounded by countryside with a minimal fuss-free set up. There’s a marquee for the main party and a cool open sided tipi for guests to enjoy throughout the day. The licensed pagoda holds the ceremony under a shady canopy of trees with guests sitting on hay bales. There’s a fire pit, garden games and a campsite which for everyone to stay in.
The great thing about this style of wedding is you can make it your own. The blank canvas allows you to decorate it as much or as little as you’d like. There are also glamping options on site and Jo and Dan spent their wedding night in a yurt just yards from the main field.
Ceremony
The reason Jo and Dan went for a festival style wedding is because, not surprising, they love festivals! They first got together at Glastonbury so it seemed fitting to base their wedding on this theme. The ceremony was just brilliant and made all the more fun with friends involved in the music and everyone doing a sing a long to a couple of their favourite songs.
Reception party and couple photos
The week leading up to their wedding wasn’t looking promising on the weather front but we were blessed with sunshine and only one huge downpour minutes before Jo arrived. It meant the couple and their guests could truly have the outdoor style wedding they wanted. We were also lucky enough to have a golden hour – or a golden ten minutes – to capture some evening light shots before the party got underway.
Speeches, golden hour and partying
