Michelham Priory House Wedding Venue

Michelham Priory House wedding venue is simply gorgeous. Run by the wonderful team at Blue Door Weddings, this beautiful wedding venue is an ideal, year-round place to tie the knot. The historic Tudor mansion is set in seven acres of grounds surrounded by a medieval gatehouse and moat. With an Elizabethan barn attached it’s perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Barn

The barn has a spectacular vaulted, beamed ceiling filled with fairy lights, and a bar. There’s both a courtyard garden at the front and private walled garden at the back. The extensive grounds on the estate include a kitchen, herb garden, orchard, formal and informal lawns.

Summer wedding

With a capacity of over 100 guests, Michelham has a wedding licence for civil ceremonies allowing couples to choose from a range of locations. There’s the Priory Chamber, in the Tudor house itself, the Elizabethan Great Barn or even on the lawns. David and Dara chose to have their ceremony in the stunning gardens and guests were able to make the most of the grounds and gardens for drinks.

I loved the character this venue brought to their day. It was an occasion they wanted to be as relaxed as possible with the photography telling their story. I hope it did just that. Thanks for having me along David and Dara! For more Sussex inspiration see here.
