Firle Place fusion wedding
Fusion weddings are just incredible. So much joy, so much colour, so much to photograph! Firle Place in Sussex is an ideal wedding venue for so many different types of weddings and civil ceremonies. It offers a whole host of different styles – and of course your wedding can be completely bespoke to you. You can go for the French chateaux feel, Boho feel, traditional church wedding, marquee wedding, garden wedding, the list goes on. And of course a Firle Place fusion wedding is right up there too. I was here second shooting on the second day of Nikul and Eleanor’s wedding and it was just fantastic. They had the church ceremony on day one and held the Hindu ceremony on day two in the Georgian Riding school. (a Grade 2 listed barn-style building).
The Baraat
There are many traditions and customs when it comes to Indian weddings and some have more religious significance than others. However, a baraat is more about amplifying the joyous mood of the day and it doesn’t ever disappoint. This celebratory wedding procession for the groom involving live music and dancing. It’s a sight to behold. Nikul and his closest family and friends gathered in the grand building that is Firle Place before heading out of the infamous blue doors along the front of the building towards the Riding school.
There were drums, smoke bombs, dancing and abundant joy! This is a key part of the wedding day and is a great start to the celebrations before the couple meet at the mandap for the Hindu ceremony.
The mandap
Once Nikul was in place at the mandap guests were introduced by the Hindu priest conducting the ceremony. The arrival of the bride, Eleanor, was a wonderful moment as she walked towards the absolutely stunning Boho inspired mandap. It was a visual treat and a beautiful ceremony followed.
Afterwards guests were invited to a wonderful lunch in the marquee on the lawn in front of Firle Place. The marquee was equally stunning with its Boho chic interior. Just so much gorgeousness at this wedding as you can see in the photos below.
