Hackney Town Hall London wedding

“We had a very relaxed wedding and wanted lots of shots of people having fun as well as some posed shots. Pippa listened to us and delivered exactly what we wanted!! This wedding was an example of pure joy and happiness and it was a total delight to be a part of Izzy and Matt’s special day. I met this awesome couple well over a year ago and it was a day I was really looking forward to. A Hackney town hall London wedding was a first for me and it was brilliant to be in the capital shooting at this beautiful venue. Hackney Town Hall is one of London’s finest examples of civic art deco architecture. Originally designed by Lanchester & Lodge and opened in 1937, today the Grade II Listed building is still a focus of community life in Hackney. The vintage glamour of this town hall attracts thousands every year to get married in one of their five rooms available for hire. These iconic steps are perfect for that confetti exit and group and couple shots.

Ceremony

Izzy and Matt married in one of the committee rooms in front of a special group of family and friends. It was a moving and touching ceremony with a tearful bride setting the scene for a wonderful day full of love and emotion.

London walkabout

There’s nothing better than a walkabout – whether it’s in the countryside or in a city, and London is no exception. We walked from Hackney town hall across to Victoria Park, which the couple know well. After some photos in this gorgeous London park we headed across to The Royal Inn on the Park. A former coach house with original features and a bright conservatory room extension, this mid-Victorian pub is a perfect setting to host your celebration. Its full length sliding doors look out over the back garden with views over onto the beautiful park and beyond.

Izzy and Matt brought the house down with some fabulous speeches and matching Mr & Mrs Lim denim jackets for their first dance. Congratulation Izzy and Matt. It was a true honour to be your photographer and I loved every minute of it! For more London wedding inspiration see this post here. x
