Relaxed Isles of Scilly beach wedding
From the moment they got engaged Miranda and Sam knew they wanted a relaxed Isles of Scilly beach wedding. Choosing to get married on Tresco on the Isles of Scilly was easy for Miranda and Sam.Tresco island is meaningful to them both. Miranda holidayed on Tresco as a child so it held all those wonderful childhood memories that she could surround herself with on her wedding day. It was also where Sam proposed to Miranda.

This island manages to combine a touch of the traditional with a chilled vibe making a Tresco wedding an ideal choice. The sun shone for the majority of the day with only one heavy rain shower to contend with. With only one church and one pub, news soon spread a wedding was taking place. Onlookers watched as Miranda and her bridal party walked to the quay to meet Sam and the guests. A further short walk to St Nicholas church followed where an intimate ceremony took place (only the 176th on the island). The world famous Abbey Gardens is a subtropical gem and was fantastic for some photos. Miranda and Sam choose a Cornish afternoon tea at the Flying Boat overlooking the islands before enjoying the evening with a local folk band. There is something so special about an small wedding where you know each and every person present. This wedding just had the loveliest vibe and the love for Miranda and Sam was palpable.
Photographing a relaxed isles of scilly wedding
It was a total honour to be chosen to photo a wedding on Tresco. Especially as there haven’t been that many! I loved the experience of photographing here, especially with such lovely people, gorgeous Cornwall light and of course amazing backdrops. It’s certainly quite a mission to get to the island. Three hours on the ferry from Penzance is not for the faint hearted. Even the strongest of constitutions were struggling shall we say! But the magic unfolds once you reach St Mary’s and get another boat to finally reach Tresco. I’ve been lucky to shoot two weddings here and wouldn’t mind the hat trick!
