Brighton winter wedding

This was a very special wedding which took place last week in Brighton. It was the third attempt at having their wedding day – Covid and illness had thwarted their plans one too many times before. This was third time lucky. And it was touch and go for Patrick and Felicity who’s youngest boy hadn’t been well in the lead up to the big day. However, the day arrived and their micro wedding was going to take place. And it made total sense that these two were overcome with emotion to be finally standing there saying their vows in front of their children and closest family and friends. Their oldest son gave out the rings while their closest friends did two lovely readings. As the ceremony took place while it was dark outside we managed to stay in the town hall for a few relaxed couple shots.

Away with tradition

I love this small wedding for many reasons and not least because Patrick and Felicity bucked a few traditions. Felicity chose not to wear white for the occasion which fitted the end of day ceremony at the town hall. They also didn’t want confetti so instead bought all their guests ribbons to wave as they walked out of the town hall. The sun had long dropped and by now it was pitch black as they walked outside, now a married couple. It was a really colourful and alternative option to confetti. Plus the guests get to take something home with them!

Reception

The 30 wedding guests and newly married couple headed just across to the way to the Mesmorist where they had a private function room upstairs for the wedding reception. There were speeches and cake and without doubt, a lot of love in the room.

Congratulations Patrick and Felicity!
