Stanmer house wedding photography

“Amazing, the best wedding photographer we could have asked for! Due to our last minute wedding we booked Pippa with very short notice but are so glad we did!
Pippa was perfect, flexible, gave brilliant advice and went the extra mile at every instance. The pictures are fantastic and she captured every moment in the most perfect way, even flexing due to some rain to make sure all shots were covered including needing to ask for some extra group shots on the day!
I cannot recommend Pippa highly enough, she made our wedding and a huge thank you for the memories she captured on the day, her skills and services are exceptional.”

Nestled within Stanmer Park just a ten minute drive from central Brighton is this stunning Georgian manor house. Stanmer House is one of Brighton’s gems and offers a beautiful wedding venue for those wanting something with a countryside feel yet close to the city. As well as stunning architecture there is an elegant decor throughout and the tranquil gardens offer an enclosed private space. From almost every window you can see the South Downs.

Will and Alex

Will and Alex contacted me earlier in the year about their wedding. They live in Switzerland but Alex’s family live in Brighton and a lot of their friends are UK based. They wanted an informal feel to their wedding and a big fun party before heading off to their new home in September: Singapore. A quick flight over from Switzerland and a few venue visits later, they fell in love with Stanmer House. The perfect location, a late license and stunning Sussex countryside at every turn, it ticked the boxes for this laid back relaxed couple.

The ceremony

With more than one choice of ceremony room, Will and Alex opted for one of the most elegant in the manor. With windows overlooking the gardens they had over 40 guests join them for their ‘I do’s’. Their celebrant led a bespoke ceremony full of personal anecdotes about the couple while Alex’s sister did a reading.

Reception drinks

Sometimes it just works out like this… after the hottest June on record Will and Alex’s June 30th wedding was met with a bit of drizzle and grey skies. Nonetheless, it did nothing to dampen spirits and we we lucky enough to be outside on the terrace for drinks and canopies before heading inside to the beautifully laid out dining room.

Couple portraits

We couldn’t venture as far as we had hoped into Stanmer Park as sods law the heavens opened but shooting around the house and in the gardens still provided the perfect backdrop.

Evening party

Bucking the traditional first dance, Alex and Will’s friends enjoyed drinks at the cocktail bar before filling the dance floor late in the evening. There was such a lovely vibe at this wedding and it was an honour to be a part of it.
