Same sex friendly wedding photographer

I am hoping you’ve found this blog piece because you might specifically be looking for a wedding photographer who has shot a lot of same sex weddings and who, because of being gay and in a same-sex relationship, understands exactly what it’s like to feel comfortable working with like-minded people. Having a same sex friendly wedding photographer could make a difference on your day.

One facet out of many that make up ‘me’ is the fact I am a gay. I don’t think it defines me, however, as a minority group of people I also think it’s very important to be visible to the LGBTIQA+ community. I absolutely stand for inclusivity when it comes to weddings and it’s important to have your community and to have someone who ‘gets’ it. Especially on your wedding day. On the one hand there is nothing ostensibly different about photographing a same sex wedding – but it can provide extra comfort, rapport and support. After all, your wedding day is going to be one of the most important days of your life and you want the right people around you.

My goal at every wedding though is the same. I want to capture the energy and atmosphere of the day and all those moments that highlight the characters and relationships between people who have brought the day together. At the heart of those moments is a couple in love with all their family and friends ready to celebrate with them.

Celebrating Diversity

As an avid people watcher and general lover of meeting new people, it makes sense that one of my favourite parts of this job is getting to work with such a wide range of great couples. Couples from different backgrounds who have different preferences, things that are important to them and characteristics that make them who they are.

And weddings are just the perfect place to celebrate who you are as a couple. More and more traditional weddings are being ditched for those more personal, bespoke days where a true reflection of you both shines through. It’s that I want to capture.
