Proposal photographer Brighton

We couldn’t have had more challenging weather for this surprise proposal shoot but I loved every second of it. When Junior reached out to me to photograph this special occasion we only had a small window. Layal was flying in and out of the country and there was limited time. I knew I had to nail it and I couldn’t wait to capture the moment they’d remember forever. Being a proposal photographer in Brighton you’re never stuck for ideas as there are so many locations to chose from. Junior wanted to get down on one knee on Brighton’s iconic bandstand – a place also knows for its exposure to the elements but we went ahead with the plan and it worked a treat!

Obviously one of the key challenges when doing proposal photography is to make sure you’re there at the right time, the right place and to somehow remain ‘invisible’ to the unknowing partner. This is where turning your location on your phone makes all the difference. I could track Junior as he and Layal arrived at the bandstand. It was both a blessing and a curse having such terrible weather. With few people around it made it easy to spot them but of course it also made me more conspicuous!

It all unravelled perfectly as I was able to hang back when Junior popped the question and could then move closer for the reaction shots. What a gorgeous couple to spend a bit of time with – thank you Junior for trusting me to capture this special moment.
