Isles of Scilly Wedding Photography
The Isles of Scilly are a perfect getaway wedding destination. If you strike lucky with the weather you could easily feel you’re in the Caribbean with the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Having photographed a few weddings on Tresco I can whole heartedly recommend this island. It’s a family-owned tropical paradise. And as their website states: ‘Somewhere else altogether.’ The island lies 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall and carries with it a mystical charm.

TRESCO ISLAND CHURCH WEDDING
This slice of paradise, or the Cornish Caribbean as it’s known, is a truly idyllic place to get married. No cars, no noise and no stress. St Nicholas on Tresco is a beautiful 19th church. It feels as though you’re going back in time here. And as Tresco is so small you can often walk from wherever you’re getting ready to the church. From the church it’s, of course, a short walk to the beach where you can have reception drinks and nibbles with your guests.

TRESCO ABBEY GARDEN
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to photo opportunities on Tresco Island. The stunning beaches are the obvious backdrop but you also can’t go wrong at Tresco Abbey Gardens, home to over 2000 specimens of plant from every Mediterranean climate zone. This provides beautiful green and lush locations for some couple portrait shots.

THE FLYING BOAT CAFE
This is a superb venue which you can hire out for your wedding party. Its location is second to none boasting epic harbour views where the sun goes down in front of you. The food is top-notch and put a Cornish folk band in the mix and an awesome party awaits!

GETTING TO TRESCO
This is an adventure in itself and I would recommend you and your wedding party arrive well in advance of your wedding day. You can arrive in style on the Isles of Scilly. The most indulgent way is to charter a helicopter direct from mainland Cornwall. You can also fly to St Mary’s, or helicopter to St Mary’s where it’s a short boat transfer to Tresco. For those who like to be at sea however there is the Scillonian ferry which takes just under three hours from Penzance to St Mary’s. Once you’re on the short boat ride to Tresco you really start to feel you’re leaving the hustle and bustle behind.
Tresco is truly a stunning place to tie the knot. Be it an elopement or wedding with friends and family. So if you’re thinking about it get in touch! x
